A few weeks ago, I started building a wallpaper website. Today, people from Europe are visiting it. This is a reflection on how creating Monoframe made me rediscover the magic of the internet, digital creation, and building something that exists beyond my own devices.

I Built a Website and Accidentally Reached Europe

A few weeks ago, I was simply thinking about building a wallpaper website.

Nothing more.

I wasn't trying to build a company. I wasn't trying to become an entrepreneur. I just wanted a place where I could share wallpapers that I personally wanted to use.

So I started building Monoframe.

At first, it was just a small project. A simple website with high-resolution wallpapers, minimalist designs, and futuristic cityscapes.

Then something interesting happened.

One day, I opened Google Analytics.

I expected to see only a few visitors, maybe from Japan.

Instead, I saw people visiting from Europe.

For a moment, I just stared at the screen.

It felt strange.

I was sitting in my room in Japan, creating wallpapers on my Mac, and somehow people on the other side of the world were looking at them.

That's when I realized something.

The internet is still magical.

We use it every day, so it's easy to forget how incredible it actually is.

A person can create something in one country and share it instantly with people they've never met, in places they've never been.

No shipping.

No borders.

No stores.

Just an idea connected to a network.

The more I thought about it, the more fascinating it became.

Monoframe exists entirely in digital space.

Even if I replace my computer, buy a new phone, or move somewhere else, the project continues to exist.

The wallpapers remain online.

The website remains online.

The articles remain online.

The ideas remain online.

In a strange way, it feels like building something that lives beyond the devices I use every day.

I also realized that Monoframe is not really about wallpapers.

At least not entirely.

What I'm actually interested in is digital environments.

The wallpaper on a screen changes how a workspace feels.

The color of a phone case changes how a device feels.

A clean desktop feels different from a cluttered one.

A futuristic city wallpaper creates a different atmosphere than a minimalist abstract design.

I care about those details.

And I think many other people do too.

That's why I continue building.

Not because I am obsessed with wallpapers.

But because I enjoy creating digital spaces that people can live in every day.

Looking back, it's funny.

A few weeks ago, I was simply building a wallpaper website.

Today, people from Europe are visiting it.

Maybe that's not a huge achievement.

But it reminded me that the internet is still one of the most fascinating things humans have ever built.

And honestly, I think that's pretty cool.
